Meet Mr Mike Garth. Sales extraordinaire, community voyager, in-house art guru, and the one keeping us the most stylish. He’s the new sheriff in town, and that’s only because most days he looks like one. Yes, Mike G. rocks a non-ironic, well groomed, totally legitimate, year-round moustache.
In addition to craft beer, he appreciates good art, great music, and fine cuisine. Mike is our newest Sales-Rep and has been doing a remarkable job preaching the Village word on the streets, but he also spends a lot of his time working on community events and partnerships. Let’s talk to him to learn a little bit more!
I started out as a bartender after receiving a political science degree at the U of C and somehow turned my passion for beer into an 11-year (and counting) career in the beer biz.
5 years at Steam Whistle Brewing in sales, 5 years at Big Rock Brewery in marketing, and 1 year at Village doing both.
I spend my days spreading the Village word throughout downtown Calgary, north Calgary, all the way to Red Deer and everywhere in between. Sales, events, tradeshows, sponsorships. Shaking hands and putting KM’s on my vehicle 7 days a week.
Being out in the wild all day Interacting with people and not sitting at a desk pouring over spreadsheets.
When not selling beer and working community events, I’m the President of the TRUCK Contemporary Art Gallery in Calgary. and the Fundraising Chair for the Music Mile Society in Inglewood.
Cruising the secondary AB highways in our delivery truck with Scott our delivery guru. Delivering beer to the Millarville Horse Races in the hot July heat. Music blaring, windows open, taking it all in.
Neighbour for sure!
Blindman Brewing Kettle Sour #10.
Kurt Vile, Bottle it in.
The Dodgers Baby!
I’m a closet video gamer..
