Our Story Let Us Gather For Mutual Benefit. And Beer.
Some of the best things happen over beer. Ideas are born, friendships forged, deals struck. Village Brewery began that way too, with friends sharing beers and dreams for a community brewery. A brewery that would support Calgary’s artists and craftspeople. A brewery that would create the excellent ales and lagers our friends and neighbours deserve.
Village is a business built around beer but dedicated to bringing together the community in Alberta, It’s what we are proud of, It’s what makes us unique"

Community Commitment Succeeding Together
Village is a big supporter of music and the arts; of performers and the places they perform. In fact, when people get together to celebrate in their communities, we’re often there. And while we love a party, we don’t need to wait for one.
A perfect example is our work with community gardeners around Calgary, where hops and other local ingredients that are grown find their way into a true community brew. Each fall we release Village Gardener Ale, the product of a “brew good, do good” attitude we’ll never change.
As Jim Button says, “We want to craft exciting beer, share the stories of our industry and support the communities we live and work in. It’s all part of helping the industry grow, to bring on the next generation of brewers and to have a positive impact on life in Alberta.”

180 years of beer experience
Partners
Serendipity. That’s how we describe how we came together to form a community brewery in Calgary. One person with 20 years of experience ought to be enough to start making beer, but we're seven guys with over 180 years of beer experience, and many of us have passed up opportunities to start breweries in the past. Never felt right
But when we sat down together we couldn't help but notice we had a footing in every side of the brewing business: brewing, plant operations, finance, business management, sales and marketing. We stirred all that together and look what came out: a nice balanced brewery and a force to do a bit of good for the Calgary community. And, umm, tasty beer.

Beer Barons
Community Commitment
Village Brewery is proud to have assembled a group of Beer Barons: 50 Calgarians of accomplishment chosen
for a history of making Calgary a better place to live. Under the Village banner our Barons have pledged to work collectively to do further good for our community. And there's no pledge more binding than one you make over beers.
